Site Map

A site map is a list of pages of a web site accessible to crawlers or users.
This helps visitors and search engine boots find pages on the site find pages on the site. FLEXCMP provides site map automatically created and immediately available without any programming.
The Ministerial Decree issued on 27/7/2005 regarding "The quality of online services and measurement of user satisfaction" when it comes to "the quality of sites and portals" clearly states the importance of site maps. It particularly requires the presence of a clear and continually updated site map. FlexCMP automaticizes the generation of site maps, updating them in real time after the change or insertion of new items to the site's navigation menus.
The link to the map can be inserted in a graphic or text form in any part of the page, even inside text or navigation menus. FlexCMP automatically manages sites with multilingual maps in different languages.

Search Engine

FlexCMP provides an accessible internal search engine which provides answers in native language (declined by language in eventual multilingual sites).
The internal spider not only index-links pages, but also PDF or RTF documents which might contain the words you're looking for. You can also search for key words which are present in the pages themselves or inside attachments (PDF and RTF). The search engine also has an advanced search function which limits research to single arguments or specific sections of the site. In the spheres of editorial projects and site settings it is possible to insert a research box which specifically limits the contents of the current section. You can also insert specific search engines which carry out searches in databases or external XML files.

Breadcrumb Trails

To increase the usability of web sites, FlexCMP supports and automaticizes the generation of breadcrumb trails, as theorised by the usability guru, Jakob Nielsen. Breadcrumb trails are in essence a series of links which tell the navigator where they are in the site. Normally the breadcrumb begins with the words "You are in " or "You find yourself in" or "trail". Breadcrumb trails contribute to satisfying the principles of perception, comprehensibility, coherence and transparency of the site, as requested by the Methodology for the subjective verification of accessibility. The insertion of breadcrumb trails in a site immediately highlights eventual incoherence in the organisation of contents and therefore forces the authors of the site itself to create a project which is complete and consistent. Manually creating a breadcrumb trail is incredibly complicated and time consuming, especially when you have to reorganise content, as every modification means that you have to update the trail on numerous other pages. FlexCMP has automaticised breadcrumb trails and updates them automatically every time one or more pages are moved in the environment of the content organisation (map). Sites based on FlexCMP are completely customisable and so you can decide if and where to insert a breadcrumb trail, you can also decide the character of the space between one page and another, as well as the insertion or not of the last item in the trail (which corresponds with the current page you are on).

Printable Version

All pages created with FlexCMP are immediately and automatically available for printing, supporting contents and information sharing between users.
One of the most recurrent and annoying problems connected with internet sites is the generation of printed pages which are difficult to read or just mistaken.
FlexCMP automatically generates printer friendly versions of every page, serving them on a dedicated template. With this function even the most obsolete browsers can print out every page of the site correctly, both content pages and applicative pages (like those generated by E-government services). Thanks to this specially dedicated template you can also customise the print out by inserting headers and footers, as well as insert, at the complete discretion of the author, page interruptions during the printing phase.
