FlexCMP and the events of the America’s Cup on the institutional web portal of the Municipality of Naples
Starting on 7 April 2012, Naples will host the America's Cup, the most famous and prestigious sailing race in history.
It is proof that the city of Naples wants to relaunch its image worldwide.
The tool available to the Municipality of Naples to inform citizens and tourists about the events and logistic communications supporting this important sailing event is FlexCMP, the CMS that the staff of the Municipality has successfully and autonomously used for years to run the institutional portal www.comune.napoli.it. Comprising thousands of accessible pages and services, it is visited by millions of users every year.
The calendar of events to be found on the institutional portal of the Municipality of Naples includes all the initiatives and gatherings scheduled during the race and meets the commitment of the Department for Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Naples to coordinate and programme the cultural initiatives in the city that may be of interest to citizens and tourists.
The city of Naples will turn into a large stage that will host the America's Cup. The protagonist will be the sea, where the regattas will take place. The entire city will be involved in a series of initiatives, including guided tours to allow tourists and visitors to discover some itineraries of Italian history. These initiatives, which add to the rich and varied calendar of events, are the result of the project proposals that associations and various parties from the area have put forward following the publication of a call for tender that expired on 27 March.
To create this map that geolocates the traffic devices in the city, the city has used the Geo-Referentiation Module by FlexCMP.
